It’s no secret that UK schools are facing, even more, teacher shortages and it is starting to show. It has been estimated that by 2020 the secondary school age population will be set to reach three million. There is an apparent shortage of high-quality teachers coming through the system. With rising workloads and pressure to hit results teachers are entering the profession for only a couple of years before they leave again.
As a supply agency, we are noticing more schools are finding it harder to recruit, and there are certainly fewer teachers available who are ready and available for supply covers.
